Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Source Quest. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you are using Source Quest on behalf of a school or institution, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Accounts and eligibility

Teacher accounts are for educators and require a valid email address. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Students do not create accounts; they join assignments under a teacher's direction.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit or use source material you do not have the right to use, or that infringes others' rights.
• Use the service to create content that is unlawful, harassing, or harmful to students.
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, billing, or access controls, or to misuse the AI features outside their intended classroom purpose.
• Reverse engineer, disrupt, or place unreasonable load on the service.

4. Your content and teacher approval

You retain ownership of the source material and content you provide. You grant Source Quest a limited license to process that content to operate the service.

AI may generate draft questions, but the teacher remains the publisher: generated student-facing content is shown to students only after teacher approval. You are responsible for reviewing content before publishing it to students.

5. AI features

Live AI question generation is available on paid plans and is provided on a best-effort basis. AI output can be inaccurate; you must review it before classroom use. Availability may depend on your plan, usage limits, and third-party providers.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor until cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription from the billing portal. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with advance notice.

7. Service availability

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily limits access.

8. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to protect the service or its users. On termination, your content may be deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Source Quest is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email, and the effective date above will be updated. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
